Programme evaluation and indicators

We are thrilled to announce that Interact, in collaboration with dedicated Interreg programmes, has launched the first three evaluation pilots and started with first discussions. However, there is still a chance for you to join this pilot initiative.

Background information

This initiative is designed to support impactful evaluations and promote the exchange of perspectives and methodologies. Adopting a bottom-up approach, these pilot exercises empower participating Interreg programmes to collaboratively select topics, methodologies, and key messages tailored to their specific needs and interests.

First three evaluation pilots kicked off: agreements and next steps

1. Harmonizing the approach to highlight the added value of Interreg

The group will begin by exchanging different practices to understand how added value is perceived across various Interreg programmes. They will reach a common understanding and eventually even a common working definition of added value and discuss common evaluation questions. The range of future options, provided the group is interested, includes developing a unified approach, creating an impact pathway, exchanging methods and data, and sharing common findings and messages. The next online meeting is scheduled for 14 October, from 13.00 to 15.30 CET. You can register by clicking here.

2. Evaluating ISO1 governance achievements with a holistic perspective

This pilot focuses on mutual learning, starting with exchanging practices to understand how ISO1 is used and integrated into the programmes. The next online meeting is set for 16 October, from 9.30 to 12.30 CET. Just click here to register.

3. How are the programmes adding value to the MRS and vice versa?

Participants will begin by exchanging practices to understand how programmes add value to the MRS and vice versa. They will present concrete examples, such as the questions developed by DRP and the approach taken by Alpine Space for mid-term evaluations of their key project on institutional capacity. Discussions will also cover the role and position of the programmes in the impact pathways model currently being developed for the MRS. The next online meeting is scheduled on 15 October, from 9.30 to 12.00 CET (date and exact timing still tbc, please tentatively save the date).
