Interreg allocates 4.5 billion through 150 calls

Research by Interact and the keep.eu project team has found that 4.5 billion euros were made available for Interreg projects. This was achieved through 150 calls which have already been run by Interreg programmes in the 2021-2027 period.
The combined work of the 87 Interreg programmes shows how quickly Interreg is moving forwards in the 2021-2027 period. Programmes are implementing projects under the five Policy and two Interreg Specific Objectives, and allocating almost 10 billion to address key challenges.
The data gathered by keep.eu and further verified by Interact, shows Interreg has moved quickly to make funding available. Of course, this data can only serve as a complement to more official information, such as the details of approved projects, with funding agreed by Monitoring Committees, and with project timelines. Such data is available in the keep.eu database for more than 600 projects.
The data set informs Interact’s State of Interreg report which will be published in November 2023, and aims to provide an overview and reference point for Interreg programmes at the moment. This report uses keep.eu and DG REGIO’s Open Data Platform to provide this overview.
Draft copies of the Report will be available at the Interreg Annual Event.
